    John “Knoxie” Knox

    John Eric Knox,68 of North Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at home with family by his side. John retired from the Syracuse Police Department after 37 years. He enjoyed spending time golfing, was an avid Yankee fan, an active member of Adelphi Club, and a member of the Syracuse Police retirees. John was predeceased by his parents Robert & Genevieve Knox, a brother Scott J Knox and grandson Zachary. He is survived by his wife Daphne M. Hammond Knox his sons Michael J Knox (Becky) of Liverpool, Brian P Knox of Solvay, stepson Robert J Allen Jr. of Alabama, stepdaughters Brittany Knox of Syracuse, Lisa M Allen of North Syracuse, Liza M Allen of West Monroe, ten grandchildren, brothers Robert (Cindy) Knox of Florida, Daniel Knox of Baldwinsville, sisters Patti (David) Peck of Marcellus, Kelly (John) Ball of Canastota and several aunts and uncles. Calling hours will be 2-4 pm and a memorial service will be at 4:00 Saturday December 4th, at the Midler Ave Wesleyan Church, 511 S. Midler Ave, Syracuse. A celebration of John’s life at the Valley American Legion Post, 110 Academy St. Syracuse will follow the memorial service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Midler Ave Wesleyan Church.
