    Olive J. Grabow, 91, of Chittenango NY, died peacefully at home after a brief illness. Olive was born on January 15, 1930, in the Town of Smithfield, NY, the daughter of the late Fenton and Vera Louise (Ingalls) Bliss.

    Olive attended Morrisville Eaton School and later received her GED so she could attend nursing school in Utica, NY. She worked as both a nurse and dental assistant for a short time. She was a member of the Peterboro Methodist Church.

    Olive married Arthur W. Grabow in 1946 and lived in the Town of Fenner all their married life. Arthur passed away September 16, 1997.

    One could most often find Olive in the kitchen, preparing wonderful meals. She was known for the best pies. She enjoyed reading, art and antiques, playing cards, and sharing stories with family and friends. In her younger years, Olive was the neighborhood barber. She kept journals throughout her life and she especially enjoyed her family reunions.

    Olive was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; her son, Henry Grabow; great-grandson, Gavyn Butler; three brothers, Robert Bliss, Eli Bliss, and John “Jack” Bliss; and sisters, Vera Louise Romer, and Eulalie St. Don. She is survived by sisters Sally O’Shea and Drusilla Wemette, daughters, Arlene Franchini and Emily Fonda, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

    Private graveside services will be in Peterboro Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh St., Liverpool NY 13088

    So sorry for the lose of your mother. I enjoy knowing your Mom when she lived in Peterboro. She and your Dad were Grange members with my parents and my self. Naomi & Milt Denison
