    Thomas P. Washburn Sr.
    July 10, 2021

On July 10, 2021 Thomas P. Washburn Sr. passed away unexpectedly. Tom “Tommy” was born on September 2, 1971 to Frank and Carol Washburn. He was the youngest of three, the only boy.  Tommy found tremendous joy, love and pride in being the father of three very loved children and always wanted nothing but the very best for them and did what he could to be sure of it.  He gained another daughter (in-law) through his oldest son and was gifted a grandson that was the light of his life. On July 25, 2020 Tom married his last love and other half. “Just one More”.  Through their years together he gave and received an incredible amount of love and built together a life they were grateful to have. He also grew his family with four more kids and became “Papa” to 3 more grandkids who all adored him. Tommy was respected and loved by those he worked with at Mas Tec, both in the field and in the office as a project manager. His co-workers became close friends and family.  He had an old-school work ethic but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have fun too, and he did. Through life’s ups and down’s Tommy managed to always remain a humble man. Quick to joke, always attentive, always up for a good time to laugh and just live. He was present in the moment and just exuded warmth and acceptance. He was a loyal friend and “brother” and all who met him were drawn to his easy going, sincere, funny and accepting personality. He would do anything for anyone. He was so humble he never realized how special he was. Once a friend always a friend!  Tommy’s passion for two wheels started as a child and was huge part of his life. He found true joy with the wind in his hair and his Harley underneath him. It was a part of his very being. He held the core values of the community close to his heart was a true example of “brotherhood”. ML&R. Tommy was taken too soon and will be incredibly missed but the mark he left on this world will live on. He lived an entire life on a day-to-day basis and will continue to do so in those who loved him and there were many. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Carol Washburn, his sister Mary (Rick) Cardinal and his son Thomas Washburn Jr.

His light will live on through: His wife and soulmate, Tina M. Washburn His Daughter Katelynn “Pumpkin” Washburn (Mike Meislin), His son Dalton Washburn, His Daughter (in-law) Sarah Elizabeth Washburn, His step-children who he accepted and loved , Brandon Hutson (Lindsey), Kayla Hutson, Robert Hile and Private Second Class Savannah Hile His Grandson Jonah Washburn, His step-grandchildren Emma, Oliver, Theodore, His sister Sue Storms (Jerry), And all he considered family, were family and many many friends.

A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be held from 2-6 pm Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the VFW Post #9596, 6996 E. Taft Rd. E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
