    Frederick Bishop Jr., 77, of Chittenango passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Oneida Healthcare Center. Fred was born June 30, 1943 in Syracuse to Frederick H. and Charlotte Bishop. He graduated from Chittenango High School in 1961 while working for the former Mayer’s Market in downtown Chittenango. He graduated from Clarkson College and then worked for General Electric before moving on to a lifetime career at Bristol Myers-Squibb moving his way up to a chemical engineer retiring in 2001. While at Bristol Myers, Fred had his name on several patents. Fred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chittenango where he had served as an Elder and a Deacon. Fred went to OCC where he trained to be a Level 3 medic and then volunteered for 12 years at CAVAC in Cazenovia. Fred volunteered with the Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club where his son Craig excelled. He traveled to Germany with the team and fell in love with the land. He also volunteered with the Chittenango High School Athletic Booster Club. Fred loved to care for his beautiful home, classical music, to play the organ and piano, tend to his garden and loved his 2 beloved dogs, Odie and Abbee. He is survived by his daughter Sherri Curran and son-in-law Andrew, his 2 grandchildren Nathan and Judge Curran and his great-granddaughter, Whitney Lynn Curran. He is predeceased by his son Craig Bishop and his parents Frederick and Charlotte Bishop. May he rest in peace. Services will be private, there are no calling hours.
