Patricia C. Berkey, 89, of Chittenango passed away at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. Born in Caribou, Maine, Pat was a resident of Chittenango over 70 years. A homemaker in her early years, she was later employed at Fay’s Drugs in Dewitt. Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chittenango. Pat enjoyed reading, knitting cooking and baking. Some of her favorite things were her grandchildren, the NY Yankees, coffee and the color Red. Pat was involved with organ donation awareness. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Berkey in 2002, her parents Cleo and Leona Ross, her sister Emily Scott, brother-in-law Elwood Scott and her friends Bernice and Herb Defrees. She is survived by her sons, Robert Berkey III (Ginger) and Steven Berkey (Tracy), her daughters Kathy Fuller (Ray) and Laura Ezzo (Robert), her brother Bernard Ross (Carol), a special daughter Barbara McDonald, 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and her best friends Thelma Beagle and Betty Streeter. A celebration of Pat’s life will be announced at a later date. Private graveside services will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St. Syracuse, NY 13204.
