    Kathy Namitz, 57, of Kirkville passed away Sunday at University Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Canastota, Kathy was a life resident of the Kirkville area. She graduated from Chittenango High School in 1979, SUNY Morrisville in 1981 and received her Bachelors Degree form Empire State College. She was employed in the Blood Bank Department at University Hospital retiring after 33 years of employment. She was a lifetime member of the North Manlius United Church where she was the Sunday School Director and a board member. Kathy loved traveling, gardening, shopping and talking with everyone. She was caring and supportive to her many friends and co-workers and she absolutely adored her 2 great-nieces Emma and Rhiannon. She is survived by her son, Jason Stucker of Kirkville, her sister Donna Bart of Kirkville, her niece Brenda (Edward) Proper of Kirkville, her nephew Daniel Proper of Kirkville, her nephew Eric (Jamie) Proper of Bridgeport, great-niece Emma Proper of Bridgeport, her nephew Kevin (Samantha) Namitz of Kirkville, her great-niece Rhiannon Namitz of Kirkville and her niece Heather Namitz of Rome. She was predeceased by her brother Steven Namitz and her sister Susan Stucker. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at University Hospital downtown for their care during her stays there. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the North Manlius United Church. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, North Manlius. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Wednesday at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Sullivan Food Cupboard or the Golisano’s Children’s Hospital.
