    Ronald “Buddy” McDonald, 75, of Minoa passed away Sunday morning at his home. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Ron had been a resident of Minoa the past 46 years. He had been employed at Oberdorfer Foundry in East Syracuse for 30 years retiring as a production manager and later drove tour bus part time for Quality Coach. Ron bowled in several leagues in the East Syracuse area and enjoyed classic cars and golf. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, John, Alfred and Raymond MacDonald. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Carol M. Arno, his sons, Ronald McDonald (Katrina) of East Syracuse and Timothy McDonald (Gwenn) of Baldwinsville, his daughter, Sharon Cwikla (John) of Kirkville, his brothers, Danny, Jimmy, and Francis MacDonald all of Nova Scotia, his sisters, Carrie McKinnon of Massachusetts and Martina Gauthier of Ontario, Canada, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and a step great-granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango. Calling hours will be 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St. Liverpool, NY 13088-6148.
